Privacy Policy

This Policy explains how Dokod Global Business Limited, Nigeria (“we”, “us”), processes personal information for the SweetDreams app and website.

1. Information we process

Parent/guardian information may include email, name if supplied, authentication/account information, and subscription/trial status. We do not store full payment-card details.

A parent may provide a child’s first name, age or age-related information, favourite animal/colour/character, optional interests and preferred narrator voice. We do not intend to collect a child’s photo, exact location, contact details or date of birth through the child profile.

We also process story choices and generated content, themes, lessons, length, voice selection, illustrations, audio, favourites and generation/usage records needed to operate the service and enforce limits.

2. How we use information

We use information to manage accounts and child profiles; generate, illustrate and narrate stories; maintain the story library; provide subscription access and daily limits; secure and troubleshoot the service; provide support; and meet legal obligations.

3. AI processing and minimisation

The child’s real first name is not sent to the text-generation model. A placeholder is used and the name is substituted within SweetDreams afterwards. The illustration-prompt flow is designed so the child’s real name is not sent to illustration generation. Exact age is not sent for text generation; an age band is used. Illustration and narration receive no age. Narration receives the finished story text and selected voice; because the finished story may contain the child’s first name after substitution, the name may therefore be present in narration text. Backend application logging is configured so the child’s name and story text are not intentionally written to application logs.

4. Service providers

Current providers include Supabase (authentication, database, storage and backend), OpenAI (AI-assisted text, illustration and narration), RevenueCat (subscription entitlement infrastructure), and Apple and Google (app distribution, in-app purchases and, where selected by the parent or guardian, account authentication through Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In).

When a parent or guardian chooses Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, Apple or Google may provide SweetDreams with authentication information such as a unique account identifier and, depending on the user’s settings and information shared by the provider, a name and email address. We use this information to authenticate and manage the parent or guardian’s SweetDreams account. Children do not have separate SweetDreams accounts and do not use these authentication services directly.

5. Children’s privacy

SweetDreams is designed for use and control by parents or guardians. We aim to collect only information reasonably necessary for the requested experience and minimise disclosure to service providers. Parents should avoid entering unnecessary sensitive information in free-text fields.

6. Advertising and tracking

SweetDreams does not currently use third-party advertising networks or behavioural-advertising SDKs. We will update this Policy and required store disclosures if that changes materially.

7. Storage, security and international processing

We use safeguards including access controls and private media storage. Providers may process information outside Nigeria; we seek to use appropriate service providers and safeguards. No system is completely secure.

8. Retention and deletion

Individual story deletion removes the story and associated illustration/audio. A generation usage/cost record may remain after individual story deletion because the generation occurred and is used for operational accounting and service limits.

Full account deletion is designed to remove the parent profile, child profiles, stories, story usage records, stored media, authentication account and SweetDreams-linked customer/subscription records, except information legally required to be retained.

9. Your choices and rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or other applicable privacy rights. Parents may contact us regarding information they supplied about their children. Email support@sweetdreamsstories.com. We may verify account ownership.

10. Account deletion and subscriptions

Account deletion can be initiated in SweetDreams. See our deletion page. Deleting a SweetDreams account does not itself cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription.

11. Changes

We may update this Policy as the service, law or our practices change. The current version will appear here.
